and this is craaaazyyy
I miss David a lot lately. We have this thing where if we don't see each other very much, we get all fighty and annoyed with each other and tense and it just isn't good. If our marriage can survive this last semester of nursing school and me working tons of hours (30 nannying, then another 20ish babysitting) it will be a miracle. We never see each other. Which means we always are grumpy. It sucks. And I think the reason we get so annoyed is because we both just try to be okay without each other when we know we can't see the other. And so when we do see the other, it is hard for us to step out of the "You are fine without them" mode and be in the "You love your spouse and want to be around them" mode.
I cannot wait for this semester to be over. I mean, he will still be working and going to school, but in that order, instead of going to school and then working. I am also excited to see exactly where he will be working. He got an offer from his Externship this Summer for a full-time position as a clinic coordinator, but that wouldn't be exactly what he wants career wise. He has to have experience in an ICU (PICU or NICU, are what he is hoping for) in order to apply to his grad school, and there are some options open in that relm, if he can interview well. He will probably work wherever he gets hired for 2 years, and then we plan on going and doing some traveling with his nursing.
Anyways, basically, I need to stop being so grumpy. I need to be a nicer wife. I am trying! It is just hard. I hate talking on the phone and I hate getting home just as David is going to bed, and him leaving while I am still in bed. I just miss him. At Christmas, we are going to NYC and then to Utah to spend some time with his family, and while ovbs I am excited for Utah, NYC is gonna be just what we need. We are going to be spending some time with one of my best friends, whom David has never met, and we are going to have a lot of time to just explore the city, just the two of us. I am so excited to see something that is new to both of us! And to eat a lot of yummy food I have been reading about on the internet for forever!
Okay, off to cake.
