Cooking and Chunking.

Today, I cooked. All. Day. Long.

Well, okay, to be fair, first I woke up at 9:30, watched some Divine Comedy on YouTube (I miss Utah sometimes, sue me.), then went to Walmart to go shopping for my day of cooking and baking (and get my oil changed, but thats not the point). And I finished around 10pm, so it was only like probably 10 hours of cooking once everything was said and done.

We are trying to save money these days, and for us, the eaisest way to do that is to stop going out to eat some dang much. Its really hard when I get home from work between 6:30 and 7 (depending on traffic) to actually want to cook something for 30 mins to an hour instead of sitting with David and watching How I Met Your Mother. Its so easy to grab something at a drive thru, or "treat" ourselves to Chili's or whatever. Its gotta stop, sooooooooo. . . .  today, I cooked like 10 different dinners that are now in the freezer for us to bust out and use instead of going out to eat! I am going to do this again next saturday, then do it at least once a month for the next year. I made: 15 breakfast burritos (good for on the go in the morning! just pull em outta the freezer, microwave for a minute, and there ya go!), 4 breakfast casseroles (good for weekends!), 2 1/2 (the 1/2 is for when I'm working late and David is hungry) Pasta Shell Dinners, 2 Ckn Enchilada Soup Dinners, 2 Beef Strognaff Dinners and I feel like there is something else but its way late and I have no idea what it was. So yeah, I also baked 6 out of the 8 cakes I will need for las b-day cake that I am making on the 18th. I will bake the other 2 tomorrow!  Look at me being on top of life.

So there is the cooking part of the post.

On to Chunking.

I have this really odd thing I do, reguarding our paychecks/budget. I like to draw little squares representing differnt demoniations of money (like 100 bucks, or 500 bucks, whatever), enough so that it is how much we make a month, and write in the square what that chunk of money will be used for that month. I like to do this for like, a 5 year period of time (seriously, i do 5 years of a budget in one sitting.) Because I am a freak like that. It just helps me to see visually where our money will go every month. I think I should patent it and sell it to the world, b/c it is crazy awesome.

Oy, I am up waaay to late because I ate something today that didn't agree with my tummy, and my tummy is protesting. LOUDLY.

I think it may be done for the evening, so I am going to try to get a few hours of sleep before I have to go teach munchkins in the AM (did I tell you I teach Sunbeams now? Cuz I do.)

The End.
